Beta 5 has been very busy for me. Here are the changes.

Beta 5 Patch 005
September 3rd, 2003
Report Fix and Charm Tree Performance mod
A bug in the building of the combo reports caused the last combo in the list to be left out.
After further testing, this bug was found in all of the multi-item reports.
For example, if you had ten charms, only the first nine would be listed.
This bug, among others has been corrected in this patch.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Character Toolkits Combos Report - Combos are not always printed (All Multi Entry Reports: Artifacts, Charms, Companions, Diary and Spells)
The first time you print (or preview) a report all of the above reports list all entries. But on all subsequent prints (or previews) the last entry does not appear. For Example, if you are printing two combos, only the first will list. With ten charms, only nine and so on. After re-booting the same cycle would occur.
Fix Corrected error by moving the opening of the print connection object back into the print data insert routine.

Fix Add commas to the combo's list of charms.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ All Character Reports Character Name Updated to 100 characters in size
Because of the large size of Abyssal Titles, the character name needed to be increased in size in the Print Database. If a Abyssal had a name over 50 characters in length, it would generate a error and cause a blank report to print.
Fix Increased size of character name field in print database. Updated all character reports to use new field size.

Previously the charm tree was refreshed whenever the charm tab was selected. To enhance performance, the refresh will only occur after the caste, abilities, attributes or essence rating are changed. Lunar ability changes will not refresh the charms.

The Specialty Favored/Caste template value will now use the value provided in the xp point template.

Point Template Essence Load Fix
Combined patch of Beta5_001-003
Some users experienced difficulties with the install search aspect of patch Beta5_003.
This patch addresses that issue and a number of others.
Most especially the bonus point miscalculation when any Bonus Point Template was selected.

When any of the bonus point templates are selected, the bonus points unspent will be increased by 2x their essence in bp cost. For example, a solar will have 29/15 bonus points.
Fix Essence total was not being reloaded when the new template was selected. Total is now loaded.

Fix Spelling corrected.

This patch covers a lot of ground.
Here are the key points:
Improved 800x600 coverage
(Menut Setting 800 x 600 Layout Adjuster added)
Mortal Toolkit - Heroic Mortal Speciality cost corrected
(Favored and Non-favored costs were reversed.)
DBlood and Lunar Toolkits: Terrestrial Sorcery Spells Now Display
(Select Users had the spells hidden by a graphics glitch.)
Lunar Toolkit - Deadly Beastman Transformation Adjustments
(Hide/Show Beastman Description added.
This will hide the description and move up the Beastman detail to prevent it from being cut off by the bottom of the page.
Form also made resizable.)
Abyssal Liege Points fix
(Points should calculate correctly now.)

Fix Corrected display logic to properly display all of the available sorcery spells.

Fix This menu setting will move the main elements of the Character toolkits up and to the left to better fit on low resolution monitors.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Lunar Toolkit Deadly Beastman Transformation Form 800x600 Adjustments
Fix A number of changes were made to the form to allow the user to see all of the data elements. 1. Form made resizable with maximize capabilities 2. Hide/Show Beastman Description Button added This button hides the desc and moves up all data elements beneath it. This provides the extra space required to see the other data items.

Fix Heroic Mortals get 22 points. The one favored ability point is included in that total. Changed point template to 21 points for All Abilities points.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ All Character Toolkits Essence reseting to 1 when custom bonus point template is selected
The new point template type - "Essence Rating Maximum Starting Point" caused Essence to incorrectly rest to 1. The essence should not be changed when the template is loaded.
Fix Added logic to prevent the essence rating from changing when the new point template is loaded.

Fix Removed logic causing error. This was caused by code to clear out work objects.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Abyssal, Lunar Toolkits Print Preview Errors - Object variable with not set
Call Print_SaveToExPrintDb raising error. Another clean-up error. Caused by my attempt to make the toolkit more memory efficient.
Fix Removed logic causing error. This was caused by code to clear out work objects.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Mortal Toolkit Ability Favored column not clearing between characters
Fix The background color was not reset properly. Changed to default color on clear. Change also made to all other character toolkits.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ All Character Toolkits Print and Preview data saving logic modification
Print connection objected moved to parent function. This provides more efficient cleanup and memory usage.
Fix Attempt to improve performance.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ All Character Toolkits Import of corrupted charms causing charm treeview not to display
If a export file of charms are missing even one pre-req charm id, it will cause none of the charms to display.
Fix Changed logic to prevent null values from terminating the charm treeview load. The charm is instead treated as having no pre-reqs instead of being lost.

XML processing raises a error when it encounters Symbol "ÿ".
Fix: Symbol "ÿ" is replaced with a "y" at character save.

Clear Button added to all portrait pop up windows to clear the selected image.
Enhancement

Previously only combat related abilities and Occult where listed. Now all abilities can be selected. The ability's related attribute is customizable. It is set in the Ability Toolkit.
